JOY - Just Older Youth

Fellowship! Fellowship! Fellowship! That is the answer you get when you ask the members of JOY what they like most about this group. And the great fellowship is evident when you participate in the monthly JOY luncheon. You will immediately notice smiling faces, warm greetings and friends, old and new alike, catching up with one another and enjoying honesty community along with real hospitality.

JOY, which stands for Just Older Youth, is a group of senior adults who have been meeting at the church for over thirty years! Originally called the Hill Toppers and then Seniors of Christ, this faithful active group is a mainstay ministry of Christ United. When the church began in 1961, it was comprised of mainly thirty-something's. By 1977 the church membership had grown and there was a need for fellowship for the retired group. The idea behind the group was to provide "Fellowship and Fun".

The JOY group always has something going on like mission activities, outreach worship events, JOY choir, bridge groups, as well as a vital role in the activities of the church in general.

JOY Bridge

Calling all bridge players! Do you play bridge - very well or just a little - it doesn't matter. We play for the fun and fellowship. Immediately following each JOY luncheon you are invited to join others who enjoy spending the afternoon relaxing a little at the bridge table with friends in the fellowship hall.  Bridge tables are set up with cards, tallies, etc... so plan to stay and have a good time!
