NextGen Ministry Associate
At Christ United, our mission is Pursuing a Christ-centered life in our self-centered world.
We’re looking for a passionate, organized, and team-oriented NextGen Ministry Associate to help lead and disciple children of all ages.
As part of our NextGen Team, this full-time position (Sunday–Thursday) works alongside the Kids and Youth Ministry Pastors to create engaging environments where kids and youth grow in their faith and families feel supported. The role includes leading Sunday morning and Wednesday night programming, coordinating volunteers, planning events, communicating with families, and helping cultivate a safe, welcoming ministry for every child.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead Sunday morning curriculum and programming.
- Assist with Wednesday night ministry and special events throughout the year.
- Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers.
- Build relationships with children, families, and ministry leaders.
- Communicate with parents and volunteers.
- Maintain ministry resources, attendance, and administrative needs.
- Ensure a safe and engaging environment for every child.
- Support the NextGen Directors with ministry initiatives and other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission and theology of Christ United.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with children in a ministry or educational setting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changing needs, and equip volunteers.

Youth Pastor
Christ United Jackson is seeking a passionate and relational Youth Pastor to lead and disciple students (grades 6–12), helping them grow in their faith and become fully connected to the life of the church.
This role exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ by creating meaningful environments where students experience spiritual growth, authentic community, and a deep sense of belonging.
Responsibilities
- Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all student ministry (grades 6–12)
- Teach and communicate regularly in both middle school and high school settings
- Lead and develop key discipleship environments, including Confirmation, small groups, and student gatherings
- Build and invest in relationships with students, parents, and leaders—both inside and outside the church
- Recruit, train, and equip adult leaders, mentors, and student leaders
- Create engaging ministry environments such as youth group, retreats, camps, and mission opportunities
- Cultivate a culture of discipleship where students:
- Grow in their identity in Christ
- Develop spiritual habits and personal faith
- Learn to live out and articulate their faith
- Provide pastoral care, guidance, and support for students and families
- Collaborate with church staff and help align student ministry with the overall mission of Christ United

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience leading and discipling students and/or volunteers
Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred:
Seminary or advanced theological training
5+ years of youth ministry experience
Experience in a church of similar size and structure
